Their collaboration began with the 1995 performance-based musical Flamenco, followed a year later by the social drama Taxi, and then by Tango, which received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film and earned Storaro the Technique Prize at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival. For his work on their next film, Goya en Burdeos, Storaro was named Cinematographer 2000 by the European Film Academy. Their most recent collaboration is the yet-to-be-released Io, Don Giovanni, about Mozart's librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte.
